What is wild clay?

Wild clay is clay collected directly from the earth. 
We hand collect (in small batches) all of the wild clay used in our ceramics. It is hand processed to remove the stones, sand and organic matter to create a workable clay body.
Wild clay must be thoroughly tested in various ways prior to using it in ceramic works to ensure suitability.

Are your ceramics dishwasher safe?

Accepted Answer

All of our ceramics (except the earth fired vessels) are high fired and suitable for the microwave and dishwasher, however, we always recommend hand washing and treating the piece with love and kindness to ensure longevity of your sacred vessel.

What is natural dyeing?

Accepted Answer

Natural dyeing is the process of binding plant pigments to a surface such as fabric. Hot and cold extraction processes can be used to extract the dye constitutes out of the plant or plant matter.
Fabrics, especially plant fibres, must be pre-treated well to allow for the strongest bond of the pigment to the fibre to achieve longevity and colour fastness of the colour/ print.

Question 4

Will the goddess designs wash off?

Accepted Answer

No, the goddess designs are applied using ceramic tissue transfers.
These tissue transfers are applied to the vessel prior to their first firing, once they have finished their second firing to 1200 degrees, they become part of the ceramic piece as the pigment contains ceramic materials.
